I am Chelsey Ruth Berg. I graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University [Virginia Tech] in May 2012. I have a Professional Bachelor of Architecture [5 year program] and I have a minor in Art History. I spent my fourth year of college living and studying in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I studied architecture at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. It was an amazing experience and I look forward to living and traveling in South America again soon. I have worked with many humanitarian organizations including Habitat for Humanity [in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado], Discovery Service Projects [in Tegucigalpa, Honduras], Hands On and South Coast Design Build [in Pass Christian, Mississippi] and Youthworks [Toronto, Canada].
I aspire to use my education as an architect to help people and would love to work for a firm that implements architecture for the greater good. I believe that the large amount of migration to cities in recent years creates a great oppurtunity for architects to intelligently and efficiently design in a way that can help to shape the future of the city. I want to be a part of the growing trend of experimental research of the informal city, and its translation to a social architecture. Download my resume.
